The numbers
of companies that are using robots in Brazil are increasing considerably and in
many different areas. One good example is the car industry, where robots can perform
tasks that humans often found dangerous, and it could do them with consistent
speed and precision. There are also an increased number of surgeons that are
using robots to assist them in delicate microsurgery.
The recent
news are saying that Brazil will use robots to police the 2014 World Cup, they
will be programmed to analyze suspicious-looking objects in 12 cities.
I believe
that robots are very useful in many cases, when they have to perform dangerous
or boring tasks. But it could also be dangerous for humans because they can be
used by the military force to kill people. I think that it must have a limit to
the tasks that can be performed by robots; after all they do not have emotions
or blame to deal with.
And because
all of this I believe that Isaac Asimov is right about creating the Three Laws
of Robotics and the first one is the most important law: a robot cannot injury
a human being.
